What would it look like?

What would we look like if our local TV stations and local newspapers actually had their own team of local reporters that sought out their own new stories? What if they focused on the positive side of the news? What if they went out into the community and around our State looking for the good in people and choose to highlight those stories rather than the current which has been so damaging and perpetuates the negative narrative? I struggle to understand why our local citizens (the local media channels, newspapers) would want to focus on the outliers of our State?

Can you imagine watching the news and walking away with a positive and good feeling? Do you think these feelings could carry us into the day with an overwhelming sense of good and the need to do good?

How can we change the trajectory of this great land? America the Land of the free and Home of the brave? Our country has always been since its inception a country made up of immigrants seeking personal freedom from tyrannical government. Our founding Fathers risked their lives, liberties, financial success and all that was familiar to them to pursue a noble idea. They sought to create a new country where their deep spiritual passion and love of God would be center in everything they created here in the New America. Love of God was central but also love of one another!

Can we love on people with a sense of owing us nothing in return? What would it look like if we just specifically sought out the best in people? What if we highlighted all the good in the area, State, Nation the World? Can you even see a better dream?

What if reporters/newsrooms didn’t get their news feed from ONE SOURCE (Associated Press) and instead decided to go and seek out the news that would rather than sensationalized the NEGATIVE and or BAD news; choose to focus on news that would and could possibly change the hearts of people?

What would it look like if we collectively built each other up? If we could embrace our differences without pointing them out? Who cares that we are all different? That is how we were designed from the beginning of time. God made us this way and it is beautiful! Each of us are individual people with very unique gifts and strengthens! We should be proud of our differences and celebrate our common thread which is God as our creator!!!

What would we look like if each of us during our day looked for opportunities to positively impact another fellow citizen-neighbor, store worker, bus driver, etc…. wherever you go?

Can you visualize the smiles we could generate? Can you see the real person behind those smiles? Do you think it could possibly become infectious? I must say that even as I write this the grand possibility makes me giddy with happiness. Why wouldn’t we all want to join in on this grand plan?

What would it look like if we stopped talking to each other and started to listen- intentionally listen to one another? What would it look like if instead of sharing short pleasantries we actually share really what is going on in our lives to those we interact with? What if we actually began to really know the people we see daily or on a regular basis? What is their journey/story? Who are they and how they got here – What affects them daily?

What if we had NO Collective Press? Meaning they all don’t read from the same script like for example the AP? What would it look like if we had-

• Individuals Seeking out Positive Truthful Stories that Impact our communities, State, Nation & the World?

• Social Media that again focused on truth and goodness and allowed free thought without judgement or banning

• Colleges/Universities- focused on teaching work skills, high level thinking and the ability to debate differences of opinion backed by facts

• Education K-12- focused on reading, writing, math and history- and not social engineering of our children

We all have choices and can live peacefully with one another if we recognize we all have the human heart that exist in each of us! What an absolutely marvelous organ! The human heart is capable of a love that is boundless and infinite! That is how we were and are designed.

What if we just made a conscience effort to want to do good and be kind to others around us without seeking anything in return? What if we all had a heart that sought to serve others more than ourselves? Can you even imagine how different this world would be?

I have and it will be wonderful and beautiful! Try to dream this new world! Where joy would be the effect of all that love and kindness. Children could be free to play and just be. Adults would marvel at their ways for they are pure at heart. That too is how God made us! Now adults could also partake in that goodness. I see a changed world ahead of us and it will be so much better than we can even imagine it right now. But God is in control and He is righting this world! We just need to do our part. Stand up and express God’s goodness and truth. Hold on! Look up and thank God for all that He is doing and who He is! Praise Him now and continually as God is our center and our Creator! All praise, adoration and glory belong to Him!
